Nadieh Bremer is a graduated Astronomer, turned Data Scientist, turned Data Visualization Designer, based near Amsterdam. She’s now working as a freelancing data visualization designer under the name “Visual Cinnamon”. As 2017’s “Best Individual” in the Information is Beautiful Awards, she focuses on uniquely crafted (interactive) data visualizations that both engage and enlighten its audience. Ranging from companies as extensive as Google News Lab and UNESCO to small start-ups. As long as there’s data that has a story to reveal.
A presentation with two parts. One will dive into how to tell a data story using a storytelling approach. Looking at how to convey a difficult concept, dataset or algorithm to an audience and make the audience interested, engaged and make them remember. While the other looks more closely at our own mind. Although we behave successfully in the world, we do not see it according to physical reality. Our mind plays tricks on us. Both of these parts are aimed at increasing your knowledge to create better data visualizations.
